Lunar Festival

The Lunar Festival will be upon us in three days.

  • Starting February 5th, check out the festivities in Moonglade.
  • On February 7th, the date of the actual Lunar New Year, spiffy celebrations will occur in Stormwind, Thunder Bluff, Booty Bay, and Moonglade.
  • On the last day of the festival, February 23rd, there will be a large fireworks celebration in Moonglade.

For some added hilarity, the there is an outdoor raid encounter as a part of this event. The demigod Omen, a large two-headed dog-type creature blessed by Elune, but long since driven mad by the Burning Legion, can be summoned up out of the Lake Elune’ara in Moonglade. If you have at least 10 level 70 players, the fight is easy, just keep moving around (to avoid his volley AoE attack). However, if you are too lazy to fight him yourself, you can always just stand on his corpse once someone else has defeated him to get the raid quest completed. You do not even have to be in their raid that killed him.

Besides all the nifty fireworks and the non-stop party in Moonglade, I am looking forward to picking up a few more novelty dresses for my characters. The Festive Lunar Dresses take 5 Coins of Ancestry, which are given out by the Elders found throughout Azeroth. As each Elder will only give you one coin, I’ll list locations of all 50 Elders to aide in the collection of Coins:
