So, Focused Will was completely changed on the 2.3 PTR, and now appears even worse. *sigh*
Upon taking a critical hit you gain the focused will effect, which will reduce all damage taken by 1/2/3% and increase healing effects on you by 2/4/6% for 6 seconds. Stacks up to five times.
There is a feedback thread on the official US forums. It is 37 pages long, and counting…
My thoughts? Well, this new version seems to be geared more toward defense against warriors/rogues/enh. shamas/feral druids. To really be getting the best use at it, you have to be in situations where you are getting crit on a lot, letting it stack. (Which most likely means you are dead or close to it….) Knowing that, I really hesitate to see how it can be any better than Blessed Resilience is. At least BR will keep you from getting repeatedly crit, as opposed to just a stackable reduction in damage done to you each time you are. The healing bonus, while welcome, I think is where this talent missed the point. We want to be proactive about preventing damage.
Discipline tree, you are lost to me…
Edit: Wow, enough updates on this damned talent yet? It got changed again:
“After taking a critical hit you gain the Focused Will effect, reducing all damage taken by 1/3/5% and increasing healing effects on you by 4/7/10% for 6 seconds. Stacks up to 3 times.”
So… less stacks, more effect. Still not enough to make me switch out of the holy tree for PvP for it, personally.
All these quick changes on the talent, it seems that 2.3 is going to be rushed out soon-ish?
